Winchester 1897 Shotgun 12 Gauge

This Winchester 1897 is a 12-gauge pump-action hammer shotgun made in 1908, with a 28-inch barrel. The bore is fair with light pitting. About 70 percent of the barrel shows thinning blue mixed with brown, with some speckling, and the receiver keeps roughly 30 percent of a blue and brown patina. The wood has typical wear but no cracks, and the action is tight and works properly.

Pennsylvania's 2026-27 firearms deer season runs from Nov. 28 through Dec. 13, and a centerfire shotgun is legal for deer and bear when it fires single projectiles rather than buckshot. Slugs are the load that fits this gun under state rules, so a hunter who wants a traditional pump for the woods would look at this configuration. Philadelphia County and other Special Regulations Area counties carry their own limits, so check the digest first.
