The Browning A5 Hunter is a 20 gauge semi-automatic shotgun with a 26-inch barrel, a gloss blue finish and a walnut stock. It weighs 5 pounds, measures 46 inches overall and has a 14 1/4-inch length of pull. The 3-inch chamber works with a four-round capacity, and the recoil-operated Kinematic Drive System cycles field loads. Total Barrel Dynamics combines a lengthened forcing cone, a back-bored barrel and Invector-DS choke tubes in Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder. An Inflex II recoil pad and bead sights complete the field setup.

Pennsylvania's deer and bear seasons allow centerfire shotguns firing single projectiles, and buckshot is not allowed in those seasons. The A5 Hunter's 20 gauge chambering means a shooter needs single-projectile loads for deer or bear. The lightweight receiver and 26-inch barrel suit a hunter who carries the gun through upland cover, and the choke tubes let the shooter match the constriction to the load.
