The Maverick 88 Slug is a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun with a 24-inch blued, fully rifled barrel built for slug loads. It has a 3-inch chamber and a 5+1 tubular capacity, and it weighs 7.5 pounds with an overall length of 43.5 inches. Adjustable rifle sights give a clear aiming system without an optic, and a black synthetic stock and forearm carry the gun in rough conditions.

Pennsylvania's deer and bear rules allow centerfire shotguns firing single projectiles and rule out buckshot, so a slug-configured pump like this one matches that rule. The rifle sights and 3-inch chamber suit a hunter working in the woods. The cross-bolt manual safety gives straightforward control. Check the Wildlife Management Unit rules before the season opens.
